I-CARE Software Audit Programme aims to help businesses make better use of their software assets and to protect* themselves against illegal use of Business Software Alliance (BSA) member companies’ software, and thereby reduce the risk of liability from software copyright infringement.
Do you know the risks of not being protected?
Under Singapore’s Copyright Law, it is a criminal offence to wilfully infringe copyright for commercial advantage. Companies can face prosecution for the use of unlicensed or pirated software in the workplace:
First time offenders:
Fine up to S$20,000; or imprisonment of up to six (6) months, or both.
Repeat offenders:
Fine of up to S$50,000; or imprisonment of up to three (3) years, or both.
